Dear friend,

At about the age of 20, I went to a local pastor that I respected and asked what I thought was a very reasonable question; “Why should I believe the Bible?
I wasn’t trying to be a smart-aleck and wasn’t trying to be some kind of radical. I was just seeking some real answers and wanted to know if the Bible was a place I could go for truth.

U
nfortunately, I don’t think anyone had ever asked him a question like that before; so his answer was less than helpful. It seemed the answers I received from anyone I asked were evasive and confusing. These weren’t bad people or dumb people, they just didn’t have a ready answer for this kind of question. Fortunately, about this time I found a little book that opened all kinds of doors for me. It’s called, More Than A Carpenter, by Josh McDowell, and it helped answer a lot of my questions.

I found out that faith in Jesus Christ is not “blind faith”, but is based on solid evidence and historical fact. Now I’m fully aware that two people can approach the same facts and walk away with at least two different points of view, but I believe that that is a spiritual issue; not one that has to do with the veracity of the facts.
I don’t believe that I can out argue every person who wants to debate. I do believe that I can point people to some resources that an open mind will find helpful in deciding what to do with Jesus Christ and whether or not the Bible can be trusted.

After years of study and life experiences, I have come to this conclusion: The Bible is God’s Word in written form and if we will trust it and let it teach us, it will show us the best way to live and point us to eternal life in Jesus Christ the Lord...
